The company has achieved on-going accreditation by Achilles under the Building Confidence Scheme; this involved a two day audit carried out by Achilles at SCi Head Office and covered all aspects of our Health & Safety systems. We are further accredited by the CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety) Scheme; a government sponsored scheme, this aslo involves an annual audit of the company's Health & Safety system.
SCI are currently working toward accreditation under the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 framework; this has involved the review and updating of our Health & Safety documentation, systems and processes to conform to the standard. Documentation
All Policy Documents, Site and Task specific Risk Assessments, Safety Method Statements and CoSHH Assessments etc. are prepared in-house to a set format. When approved, these are then distributed to our Managers and Operatives responsible for undertaking the tasks and briefed prior to work commencing; they are then updated and re-briefed with any additional health & safety issues at regular toolbox talks. Pertinent information is also passed to anyone that may be affected by our actions.
The Health & Safety Manager undertakes regular audits of SCi's site works, offices and factory, issuing a report to the relevant persons on completion of any site audit. Audits are carried out and recorded covering all activities at regular intervals; Corrective Actions are implemented if required and monitored to ensure that they are effective.
All documentation is subject to regular review with any corrective actions implemented and monitored.

Training
Regular training ensures that our staff maintain a high level of competence in their work role and in Health & Safety matters. SCi currently provide and run a comprehensive training plan in line with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Training & Development Plan requirements; this plan requires the regular undertaking of toolbox talks, prescribed training courses and in-house developed training to ensure that competencies are improved and maintained.
Sub-Contractors

All sub-contractors engaged by SCi are subject to a pre-qualification audit; results of which are recorded and held at Head Office.
